The Old 52 Gift-Giving Guide: Sodas

Whether you’re shopping for that hard-to-buy-for person or hoping to remind your family of a time when life seemed simpler, the Old 52 General Store has products that are perfect under the tree or as one-of-a-kind stocking stuffers.

We’ve prepared a list of our favorite nostalgic products to help you select the perfect gift for everyone on your holiday shopping list!

As you travel over the river and through the woods this holiday season, remember to pack some classic glass-bottled sodas! With prices ranging from as little as $1.99 per bottle to $16.99 for a sampler pack, this holiday season’s economically minded Santa is sure to find something to please everyone. An assortment of retro sodas even makes a good host(ess) gift for all those holiday parties.

Some of our favorite sodas to gift include:

*Dad’s Root Beer - Developed in Chicago in 1937, Dad’s combines the classic root beer ingredients of wintergreen, licorice, and vanilla for an old-fashioned, premium flavor.
*Bubble Up - With its beginnings in 1919 as a lemon-lime carbonated soft drink, Bubble Up was produced 10 years prior to its well-known competitor, 7-Up.
*Moxie Elixir - Produced since 1884, Moxie Elixir is the oldest continuously produced soft drink in the U.S. Originally known as nerve food, legend has it that Moxie is an aid to digestion and a cure-all for nervousness, insomnia, and exhaustion. Made with real cane sugar and Gentian root.
*Nehi Grape - The soda of choice for TV character Walter “Radar” O’Reilly on M.A.S.H. The perfect gift for fathers and grandfathers!
*Nesbitt’s Orange - Nesbitt’s Orange was originally produced in 1927 for distribution to soda fountains where it was mixed with water. When the company started bottling this soda, it was distinguished by the fact that it was made with 10% California orange juice.
*Double Cola - Since 1933, Double Cola has stayed loyal to its secret recipe and original cola flavor with just enough zip.

Looking for a pre-selected mix of retro sodas? We also offer several soda sampler packs, on sale now through December 15 for $2.00 off in our online store!
